Miscellaneous

Wetlands and Beer generally don't have much in common besides water, but I saw the logo of the Stony Creek Brewery and thought I would share it. The brewery is located on shore of the Branford River in Branford, CT. I love the stylized heron logo with a head of wheat for it's comb. If the beer is as cool as its logo, I'll have to buy some!

irectly from a recent post on the Ramsar mailing list:

The Institute for Biodiversity Law and Policy at Stetson University College of Law just announced on the Ramsar mailing list that they will compile monthly a list of recently published articles discussing the Ramsar Convention and/or Ramsar Sites.

The Institute has created this list in order to facilitate research and provide timely, relevant article updates to the Forum members. The list includes online links to the articles, where available, and the Institute plans to update this list monthly.

To access the list in its entirety, join the Ramsar Forum mailing list here, I've already found a few interesting studies worth reading.
The breadth of variability between plants and their adaptations for their environments is enormous and always ingenious. The blog, flowersacrossmelbourne.com, found 40 of the weirdest flowers, many (most?!) I have never laid eyes on before. Of interest to me was the snapdragon, I never knew that it's pods resemble a dragons skull after going to seed. It's one of the few on the list that is non tropical, and this is reason enough to plant them this spring!
